After an enhance, most clinicians make the same small corrections again and again: deleting a line the model always adds, stripping a sign-off, reshaping a section. SmartEdits turn those one-off corrections into rules that are applied automatically to every future note.

Saving a SmartEdit

Select the text you keep fixing in the enhanced note, right-click, and choose Save as SmartEdit. The save sheet suggests a name, picks how the rule should run, and shows a live preview of what it would match. By default the rule is tied to the prompt you were using (a Periop note fix should not fire on a referral letter); you can make it global at save time.

How rules run

A SmartEdit runs in one of two ways, chosen for you from the shape of the edit:

• Deterministic: an exact, mechanical transform (delete this line, replace this phrase) applied to the note after the model writes it. Guaranteed to happen, instant, and auditable.
• Directive: a natural-language instruction (for example “omit undocumented negatives”) added to the model’s briefing before it writes. Best effort by nature: cloud models follow directives reliably; the small on-device model often does not, and Scribe0 warns you when you save a directive on a prompt that runs locally.

The receipt: see what was changed

When SmartEdits run, the note shows a chip: “n SmartEdits applied”. Open it to see exactly what each rule changed, with removed text struck through, and undo any single edit with one tap. The first time a brand-new SmartEdit fires, the receipt opens by itself so nothing is ever changed behind your back.

If you keep undoing a rule, Scribe0 notices and suggests disabling it.

Works with the safety net

SmartEdits run before the medication safety check, so a rule that accidentally removes a medication line is flagged as a dropped medication. The safety net audits your rules for free.

Availability

SmartEdits is a Pro feature on macOS and Windows. A web version is in development. Rules are saved locally on each platform and do not sync between your devices.
