Get started on macOS

Scribe0 for macOS is a native SwiftUI app and the most private way to run Scribe0: transcription runs on the Apple Neural Engine, and with Apple Intelligence even the note-drafting step can run fully on-device — nothing leaves your Mac, not even text.

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later
  • Apple silicon (M1 or later) — Intel Macs are not supported
  • For fully on-device note drafting: macOS 26 with Apple Intelligence enabled
  1. Download Scribe0.dmg.
  2. Open the disk image and drag Scribe0 into Applications. The app is notarized by Apple, so it opens without security warnings.
  3. On first launch, grant microphone access when prompted and let the app download the Parakeet speech model (a one-time download; transcription is fully offline afterwards).
  1. Press record and speak — live transcription shows text as you talk.
  2. Stop, pick a prompt, and enhance. Choose your drafting route in settings: on-device (Apple Intelligence, nothing leaves the Mac), sovereign cloud (Amazon Bedrock, Australia), or OpenRouter.
  3. Copy the note into your EMR or letter.

If you use a cloud drafting route, the macOS app can run an on-device PII redaction pass first: names, dates of birth, contact details, and identifiers are masked before the text is sent, and restored in the result locally. Enable it in settings. No other platform has this yet.

Download the latest dmg from scribe0.com — in-app updates are planned.
