Get started on iOS

Scribe0 for iOS brings on-device transcription to the bedside. A compact Parakeet model runs on your iPhone’s Neural Engine: consult audio is processed on the phone and never uploaded.

  • iPhone 13 or later (A15 chip or newer)
  • iOS 26.4 or later
  • For fully on-device note drafting: Apple Intelligence switched on
  1. Open the App Store listing on your iPhone and tap Get.
  2. On first launch, grant microphone access and let the app download the speech model (~110 MB, one time). A percentage shows the progress.
  3. Onboarding explains what stays on the phone and what the optional cloud drafting step sends. There is nothing to sign in to.
  1. Tap record and speak. Text streams live as you talk.
  2. Stop, pick a prompt, and enhance. Drafting runs either on-device (Apple Intelligence, iOS 26) or through Scribe0 Cloud, which is Anthropic’s Claude on Amazon Bedrock in Australia. The first cloud enhance asks your permission before any transcript leaves the phone.
  3. Email the finished note with the envelope button, share it into any app with the share sheet, or copy it.

You can also import voice memos recorded on the phone and transcribe them the same way. Past notes live in the History tab, stored on-device.

  • The iPhone runs a smaller speech model (110M) than the desktop apps (0.6B): excellent for clear dictation, slightly less forgiving of noisy rooms.
  • Diarization (speaker labels) is supported. It is off by default: turn it on above the prompt picker when you record a conversation.
  • Cloud drafting includes a free daily allowance. On-device drafting is unlimited.
  • There is no sign-in and no cloud sync. Notes stay on the phone, encrypted at rest, with an optional Face ID or Touch ID lock on the app itself.
